Mother Death (2011) was an exercise in nightmarish discovery. As the band's sound began to organically form, the final result of the recording sessions yielded an atmospheric debut opus with a very raw symphonic voice and bold musical statements. These seeds would grow further yet, to push Scytherium's sound to new and forsaken places and secure Scytherium's ability to self produce and create material.

lyrics

Stolen from nightly chambers
Taken to a place of sin
Condemned to a godless garden
Nothing grows but hatred and mourning
Forge a mask, black as death
Filled with tears
The tears of angels
Adorned with thorns, needles, and blades
That will pierce her hollow shell

Bring me the mask, the mask of pain
So she will know, no innocence

Her weathered dress, torn and white
Red with her inner nectar
Screams of silence escape her lips
As blood falls to the earth
And then they watch as sin unfolds
As the beasts of the past take control
Manifesting inside new flesh
The white of her eyes fill with blood

Bring me the mask, the mask of pain
So she will show her true form

Tied down to a bed of nails
The darkest hours now prevail
Minion of beauty, the lost purity
No longer can she fly to heaven in the sky

Tied down to a bed of nails
The darkest hours now prevail
Minion of beauty, the lost purity
No longer can she fly to heaven in the sky

Heaven in the sky, do you ever wonder why?
The pleasure of pain and agony
Children of our own insanity

The pleasure of pain and agony

Bring me the mask...

The Midnight Cadenza (2013) is a step deeper into the void, revealing a more intense and melodic barrage of sound.
