Mother Death (2011) was an exercise in nightmarish discovery. As the band's sound began to organically form, the final result of the recording sessions yielded an atmospheric debut opus with a very raw symphonic voice and bold musical statements. These seeds would grow further yet, to push Scytherium's sound to new and forsaken places and secure Scytherium's ability to self produce and create material.

lyrics

Weeping from the darkness, above the stairwell
Depressing echoes, from beyond this world
Children, depraved, hungry for life
Envy of the dead, wander never ending
Mystery unfolds, revealing the dark
Removing my skin, revealing emptiness

Inside the nebulous void
I return to discover my nature
To ascend to higher dimension
I forget the sound of the living

The sound of the living
Hanging from the shackles, not to be seen
Parasites to my flesh, sucking my insides clean
My wounds will blossom soaking in rotten blood
Swaying from side to side, they die
A masquerade of Satan, forever to explore
Children of evil sing poems of darkness

My end, my domination
But it feels so right
I've seen the next dimension
And the dolls call my name
This next sensation
My insides rot tonight
The sound of living
I will never hear again

Frozen angels of desire, call to me from your domain

Inside, the nebulous void
I return to discover my nature
To ascend to higher dimension
I forget the sound of the living

The sound of the living
